BACKGROUND

  • A total of thirteen female lawmakers were elected to the 9th Assembly in the House of Representatives in 2019; constituting 3.61% of the total number of lawmakers in the chamber.

FEMALE PRINCIPAL OFFICERS IN THE 9TH HOUSE OF REPS [BILLS CHART]

  • Rep. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha is the only female principal officer out of a total of 13 female lawmakers elected to the 9th House of Representatives in 2019.
  • She is among the Top Ten Members of the House of Representative members in terms of bill sponsorship; having sponsored 35 bills in the last three years (2019 – 2022).

FEMALE NEWBIES IN THE 9TH HOUSE OF REPS [BILLS CHART]

  • Rep. Taiwo Olukemi Oluga is the only female newbie on the bills chart out of the 13 female lawmakers elected to the 9th House of Representatives in 2019.
  • In the period under review (2019-2022), she sponsored a total of 10 bills.
