OrderPaperToday – Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Mr.  Abdulmumuni Jibrin has said the National Assembly is set to pass the 2016 Appropriation Bill of N6. 08 trillion on March 17, 2016.
Jubrin told newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday that the Appropriation Committees of both the Senate and House of Representatives had received reports of budget defence of Ministries, Departments and Agencies from standing committees of both chambers.
According to him, both arms of the national assembly are going through their checklists to ensure that all the reports were in line with the guidelines provided before they are harmonized.
He said: “We can confirm to you that all things being equal we should be able to lay our report of 2016 Appropriation Bill before the House and the Senate before the 16th of March 2016. And of course the consideration should be done on 17th of March 2017.
So it is safe for us to conclude that the 2016 Appropriation Bill will be passed on the 17th of March 2016.”

Jibrin also added that the Committees will meet with the Ministers of Finance and Budget and National Planning, Central Bank Governor, the Accountant General of the Federation and Director General of Budget Office for final clarifications and harmonization of positions.
