OrderPaperToday– Ifon Patrick Nathan is one of the four representatives that are flying the flag of Akwa Ibom State in the House of Representatives that make a no-show on bills during the first two years of the 9th assembly.
Mr. Nathan was an erstwhile Chairman Board of Directors, Akwa Ibom State Water Company LTD; and an Executive Chairman, Onna Local Government Area Akwa Ibom State. He was a one-time lecturer, Institute of Hygiene Ahmadu Bello University, Kano.
He was also a member of the Rural Electrification Committee Akwa Ibom State; member Environmental Impact Assessment of Effect of Gas Pollution Committee Eket Federal Constituency Elders Forum. He was given the Justice of Peace award in 2003, the Millennium Citizen of Distinction Excellence Award, Federation of UNESCO in 2002 and the Ambassador of Peace in 2009.
He is representing Eket/Esit Eket/Ibeno/Onna federal constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 9th assembly.
His legislative priorities are targeted towards making policies around environmental protections, labor matters, education, food sufficiency, rural development and women empowerment, among other things.
Despite all these legislative aspirations and experiences, Mr. Nathan did not sponsor any bill at midterm (June 2019-June 2021) of the House of Representatives.
