OrderPaperTodayРRepresenting Mangere/Potiskum Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibrahim Umar Potiskum is one of six Yobe lawmakers at the 9th House of Representatives.

From information sourced online, the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal for Yobe State upheld Mr. Potiskum’s election in 2019 despite the petitioner challenging him on grounds that he didn’t receive the largest number of valid votes cast.

However, Mr. Potiskum won and dedicated his triumph to the people of Yobe State.

Despite dedicating his victory to the people of Yobe, he has fallen short of expectations and drawn a blank on the Mid-Term Bills Chart, knowing that it is through such performance he can get another chance to represent them.

He is clearly one among the long list of lawmakers in the House with zero bills at Midterm (June 2019- June 2021). His performance on bill sponsorship is, however, without prejudice to his efforts in the two other key responsibilities of representation and oversight.

A strong track record in those areas is likely to persuade his constituents towards considering him as a worthy representative. On bill sponsorship, it is hoped that he gets his acts right before the end of the current Assembly.
