OrderPaperToday– Hamisu Ibrahim Kubau is the lawmaker representing Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency of Kaduna State at the House of Representatives.
Hamisu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) currently serves as the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Ethics and Privileges.
He however failed to sponsor any bill in his first two years as a member of the 9th National Assembly.
Giving him the benefit of doubt, it is possible that the lawmaker may still be undergoing learning on the process as a newbie in parliament. Notwithstanding the fact that there are other newbies who have sponsored bills in the period under review.
It is the hope of Hamisu’s constituents that he will do better in the remaining two years of the constitutional four-year term at the National Assembly.
Editor’s Note: Rankings with the use of OrderPaper‘s Bill Chart is without prejudice to efforts in the area of oversight responsibilities, as well as representation through motions and petitions sent in by constituents.
However, lawmaking in the form of bill sponsorship remains a core duty expected of every legislator. In the absence of bills to a lawmaker’s credit, therefore, a good showing in the aforementioned areas is a boost to his/her track record.
