OrderPaperToday– Danladi Baido Tijos, a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), represents Ardo Kola/Lau/Karim/Lamido Federal Constituency at the 9th National Assembly.
First elected in 2015, Baido is one of the federal lawmakers from North-East Taraba and doubles as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Relations.
The record, however, indicates that he did not sponsor any bill in his first two years at the 9th House of Representatives, despite being a ranking member of parliament.
While some of his counterparts from Taraba have sponsored bills in the period under review (June 2019 – June 2021), he joins two others who draw a blank on the Bills Chart.
It is hoped that he will perform better in the remaining 2 years left.
Editor’s Note: Rankings with the use of OrderPaper‘s Bill Chart is without prejudice to efforts in the area of oversight responsibilities, as well as representation through motions and petitions sent in by constituents.
However, lawmaking in the form of bill sponsorship remains a core duty expected of every legislator. In the absence of bills to a lawmaker’s credit, a good showing in the aforementioned areas is a boost.
