OrderPaperToday-  Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, has asked Senate President Bukola Saraki to walk the line that former embattled Senate Presidents Adolphus Wabara and late Chuba Okadigbo treaded and resign his position in order to preserve the integrity of the National Assembly.

This came on the heels of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Friday validating the Code of Conduct Tribunal’s (CCT) constitutional and legal right to prosecute Saraki over his financial improprieties as Kwara State Governor.

In an interview with Punch, Falana said: “Having undertaken to prove his innocence at the Code of Conduct Trubunal Senator Saraki should resign as senate president so as to preserve the integrity of the National Assembly.

“When Senators Chuba Okadigbo and Adolphus Wabara were indicted, they were made to step down as Senate Presidents.”
Falana said the unanimous decision of the Supreme Court is a major breakthrough in the war against corruption.
