OrderPaperToday- Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory has indicted former President Goodluck Jonathan and 29 others in wrong appropriation of plots in designated green areas in the Maitama District of Abuja.
Chairman of the Committee, Dino Melaye revealed that the names of the culprits were discovered on oversight visit to Maitama, accusing them of altering Abuja master plan.
The other names on the list include former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, Acting National Chairman (PDP), Uche Secondus and former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.
The Committee seem to be leaning towards seeking for a revocation of the certificates issued as well as a complete restoration of the affected areas, which might include demolition of structures on green areas.
In response, Minister for FCT Mohammed Bello- Ado agreed with the lawmakers’ revocation plan, calling their suggestion “apt” and promised to adhere strictly to them.
