According to the party, the inability of the President Muhammadu Buhari to begin implementation of the programme is because the PDP plundered the treasury before it was booted out in the last elections.

The party promised that the welfare programme will be covered in the 2016 budget after the government would have succeeded in plugging leakages in the public purse created by the PDP government.

The party said the activation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which has according to the statement has saved the country over N1.4 trillion “which hitherto was lying unproductively in various commercial banks.”

”Contrary to the disinformation being peddled by the PDP, the Buhari administration is poised to lift millions of Nigerians out of extreme poverty by providing social protection and safety nets with another 2.5 trillion Naira Special Intervention Fund,” the party stressed.
