OrderPaperToday – President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the extension of implementation of the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s (FCTA) 2015 budget to enable the FCT pay for pending critical projects.

In a letter sent to the Senate on Tuesday, President Buhari noted that the FCT administration only had seven months in 2015 for implementing its budget which was signed in May 2015.

Buhari said that numerous projects which are critical to the FCT were still pending hence the need to extend the implementation of the budget.

“In order to meet its obligation and as permissible by the constitution, the FCT appropriation need to be extended to March 31, 2016.

“That would enable the FCTA make payments for various critical and essential ongoing projects,” the President noted.
