OrderPaperToday – The Edo State chapter of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has petitioned the state House of Assembly over the activities of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) on account of alleged inflexibility in remittances to members.

The association, in a petition signed by its Secretary, Willy Nova, stated that COSON’s briefings were already enshrined in Rule 3 (h) of PMAN constitution and so the Society should hands off the issue of remittances to artistes.

According to him, PMAN was registered by the Federal Government on August 15, 1984 to perform the functions for which COSON was assuming jurisdiction. He also alleged inadequate remittances to copyright owners.
