Nwokocha is the fourth Senator to be sacked by the Court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, has sacked the Senate Minority Chief Whip, Darlington Nwokocha, (LP, Abia Central).
This is even as it affirmed the victory of Senator Jarigbe Jarigbe (PDP, Cross River North) and Rep. Ginger Onwusibe (LP, Abia) respectively, in the National Assembly election held on 25 February.
The Appeal Court on Saturday, declared Augustine Akobundu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the February 25 National Assembly election.
Nwokocha was declared the winner of the election with 92,116 votes by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while Akobundu trailed behind with 41,477 votes.

Akobundu, however, rejected the result and, filed a petition before the election petition tribunal to upturn Nwokocha’s election.
The Tribunal upheld Nwokocha’s victory but, Akobundu approached the Appellate court, where he was declared the winner of the Abia Central Senatorial District election.
Akobundu is a former Minister of State for Defence and a former Organising Secretary of the PDP.
Meanwhile, the court also affirmed Senator Jarigbe as the winner of the Cross River North Senatorial District election.
The court dismissed the appeal by the immediate past Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jarigbe won the poll with 76,145 votes, and Ayade, a former Senator, scored 56,595.
Ayade rejected the result of the election declared by the electoral body and filed a petition in the Cross River State National Assembly Election Petitions sitting.
The Justice M. A, Sambo-led tribunal dismissed Ayade’s petition for lacking in merit.
In the same vein, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the PDP, Anthony Agbazuere, against LP’s House of Representatives member, Rep. Ginger Onwusibe.
The appellate court ruled that Agbazuere’s case lacked merit, and affirmed Onwusibe’s victory as the duly elected member for the Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South federal constituency of Abia State.
