Senator Abubakar said as a stakeholder in the APC, the attention of the party’s leadership has been drawn to some issues and they are working towards having the concerned individuals and groups within the party agree towards achieving needed peace.

While stressing the importance of having a successful party convention and unity, he noted that apportioning blame or expression of regrets over the issue will not lead the party to the desired height.

Speaking further, Abubakar said what is happening is to secure the future of the party and government of Nigeria as well as give the APC capacity to win elections in 2023.

“We have sat down as important stakeholders or caucus in the party to dissect some challenges and all the issues that have been affecting the part since the formation of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).

We are quite aware of the challenges we are faced with and we are aware of the successes that the committee has recorded particularly harmonizing the outcome the registration of members, and the success of the party in carrying  out congresses at ward, local and state levels.

The Committee has tried and we asked for more from them to reconcile chapters where there are still challenges that trailed those ward, local, and state Congresses because a loss in any state is a loss for the party.

Anywhere there are challenges that could cause the party’s victory a loss for everybody so we have resolved to meet again to articulate the major issues and meet with the various stakeholders and aspirants of the party to advise and call for Unity and sense of purpose in other to make sure that we unite every fraction of the party so that the party can march to victory in the 2023 elections,” he added.

It was reported that the Executive Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, on Monday, took charge as the new Acting Chairman of the party; thus generating various reactions in the party.
