OrderPaperToday – Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South in the National Assembly and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) will jointly host the annual Made-In-Aba Trade Fair beginning on March 6.

Briefing journalists in Abuja on Monday, Abaribe disclosed that the 4th edition of the fair could not have come at a better time when the country’s economy is in dire need of local patronage to overcome recession.

“We have seen that this is time is most appropriate for this Made-In-Aba, and by Made-In-Aba we mean Made-In-Nigeria. And the economy would be boasted by us buying locally,” he said.

Abaribe is facilitating the trade fair from a zonal intervention fund made available to him from the 2017 budget.

Director General of SMEDAN, Dikko Umar said FG  supports the trade fair and recognizes the place of Aba in promoting Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Nigeria.

He said the trade fair would create opportunities for SMSE to exhibit their products as well as create market access for their goods while adding value and pride to Made-in-Nigeria goods.

Senate President Bukola Saraki who has been an advocate of Made-In-Nigeria is expected to chair the opening ceremonies of the trade fair.
