In this piece, we highlight the Scorecard of lawmakers representing the various Federal constituencies and Senatorial Districts of Oyo State at the Ninth National Assembly in the area of bill sponsorship. In the period under review (2019 – 2022), the seventeen lawmakers have so far sponsored 95 bills
SENATORS’ SCORECARD
Abdulfatai Buhari
In the Red Chamber, the lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District leads the pack, having sponsored 17 bills in the last three years. Prominent among these bills is the legislation seeking to provide a legal framework for the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Oke Ogun, which the Senate has already passed.
Teslim Folarin
Representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, the former Senate Majority Leader has, in the period under review, sponsored eight bills, including that seeking to establish the National Energy Security Council, which is currently at first reading.
A third-term Senator, Folarin joins the long list of lawmakers in the current National Assembly who won’t be returning to the Red Chamber as he will be running in the March 11, 2023, Governorship election as flagbearer of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kola Ademola Balogun
On his part, the Oyo South Senator has sponsored six bills to his credit since his election to the Legislative Chamber in 2019. A prominent bill sponsored by the legislator is the Vigilante Group (Est. etc.) Bill, 2019.
Elected to the parliament on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), the lawmaker defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SCORECARD
Odebunmi Olusegun
The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency has 13 Bills to his name, including a bill seeking to establish the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, which is currently awaiting report.
Ajibola Saubana Muraina
Representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, the lawmaker has sponsored 12 Bills to his name. The bills include The Federal College of Education, Idere (Establishment) Bill, which is currently awaiting report.
Shina Abiola Peller
The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency has seven bills to his credit.
Olatunbosun Olajide Boladale
The lawmaker represents Saki East/Saki West/Atisbo Federal Constituency and has sponsored seven bills since the inauguration of the Ninth National Assembly.
Akinola Adekunle Alabi
The lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency has six bills to his name.
Abbas Adigun Adekunle
Representing Ibadan North East/ Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, the lawmaker elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has sponsored four bills in the period under review.
Ojerinde Olumide Abiodun
The lawmaker representing Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency has so far sponsored four bills.
Ajao Jacob Adejumo
A representative of Ogbomosho North/Ogbomosho South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, the lawmaker has three bills to his credit since his election to the Green Chamber in 2019.
Adeyemi Akin Adeniyi
Like his Ogbomosho counterpart, Rep. Adeniyi of Afijo/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency has sponsored three bills.
Tolulope Tiwalola Akande-Sadipe
The only female lawmaker from the state in the House of Representatives, the lawmaker representing Oluyole Federal Constituency, has two bills to her name in the period under review.
Oluyemi Adewale Taiwo
The lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency is one of the three lawmakers from the State who have sponsored just one bill since the inauguration of parliament in 2019
Olaide Adewale Akinremi
Representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker has one bill to his name.
Olajide A. Stanley
A member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the representative of Ibadan South-West and North-West Federal Constituency also has one bill to his name.
Akintola Oluokun George
Representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Rep, George is the only lawmaker from the State in the current Assembly that is yet to sponsor a bill in the last three years.
