In a bid to promote transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s legislative bodies, OrderPaper Nigeria has conducted a thorough analysis of the 10th Senate’s first year in office. This appraisal category focuses on the senators who have sponsored the most number of bills, shedding light on their bills tally and progression

The analysis reveals that the top 10 most productive senators have sponsored a total of 143 bills out of a total bill tally of 475 bills.

Here are the top 10 performing senators based on the number of bills they sponsored in the 10th Senate first year. Sen. Tahir Monguno, representing Borno north, took the lead by sponsoring 23 bills. Following closely are Sen. Barau Jibrin representing Kano north with 22 bills and Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele representing Ekiti Central with 17 bills.

Other notable senators include Sen. Daniel Olugbenga representing Ogun East and Sen. Asuquo Ekpeyong representing Cross River South, who both sponsored 13 bills.

Senators Olamilekan Solomon representing Ogun West and Mukhail Abiru representing Lagos East and Orji Kalu representing Abia North each sponsored 12 bills each.

Sen. Banigo Harry representing Rivers West sponsored 11 bills, while Sen. Aliyu Wadada representing Nasarawa West rounded out the top 10 with 10 bills.
