A detailed analysis done by OrderPaper shows that no female representative from Benue state sponsored a single bill in one year
The first year of the 10th national assembly has seen an increased number of females in the House of Representatives. Initially 11 in the 9th House, the 10th House has recorded a total number of 16 female members.
According to a detailed analysis carried out by OrderPaper on the stewardship of lawmakers between June 2023 and May 2024, the performance from the women in the 10th House has not been very impressive. Our data analysis shows that 9 out of the 16 female members in the House of Representatives sponsored zero bill. Of this number, two are from Benue state.
First term member, Regina Akume and Blessing Onuh who is currently serving her second term failed to sponsor a single bill between June 2023 and May 2024.

Reps Tarkighir Dickson and Solomon Wombo also failed to sponsor a single bill during the period under review while Rep. Ojemba Ojotu sponsored only one bill.
Also, Reps Sekav Dzua Iyortyom, Terseer Ugbor and David Agada sponsored two bills each while Reps Sesoo Ikpagher and Austin Achado sponsored 4 and 7 bills respectively.

Rep. Philp Agbese who is currently serving his first term in the House, sponsored eleven bills of which 72.7 percent are still at first reading stage while 27.5 percent are awaiting report.
In the Senate, Senator Abba Moro has five bills to his name while first term senators, Titus Zam and Emmanuel Udende, sponsored six and four bills respectively.
