A Ministerial nominee from Kaduna State, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has just slumped during his screening by Senators in the National Assembly
The development led the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, to immediately order the Sergeant-at-Arms to get the nominee water and sugar.
“Get him water and sugar immediately! Water, water!” Senator Akpabio shouted as the Sergeant-at-Arms ran in search of water to revive Mr. Balarabe.

The President of the Senate thereafter called for a closed-door session and requested all media personnel to evacuate the Red Chamber.
Balarabe Abbas Lawal, a former Secretary to the Kaduna State Government during the administration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, is one of three new Ministerial Nominees of President Bola Tinubu sent to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation.
President Bola Tinubu had, on Tuesday, forwarded a fresh list containing three Ministerial nominees for confirmation by the Senate barely two months after the National Assembly screened and confirmed 45 nominees who currently occupy various ministerial positions.
The fresh nominees are Jamila Bio (Kwara), Olawale Olawande (Ondo) and Balarabe Abbas (Kaduna), nominated as a replacement for former Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai who failed to get the Senate’s nod as Minister on the ground of failing security test.
