“How the MVP Hall of Fame encourages exemplary leadership” – CISLAC

CISLAC hails OrderPaper for Most Valuable Parliamentarian (MVP) Hall of Fame initiative, praises project as one of the most sustainable ways to ensure improved service delivery in parliament and encourage legislators that truly represent the interest of Nigerians and Nigeria. 

 

 

The Most Valuable Parliamentarian (MVP) Hall of Fame has been applauded as an initiative that will encourage exemplary leadership, especially in the legislature.

This commendation was made by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) /Transparency International Nigeria via correspondence to OrderPaper Nigeria; organisers of the initiative, over the weekend, where they expressed honour to be a partner on the project.

Executive Director of CISLAC, Auwal Ibrahim Musa (Rafsanjani) in the statement of support addressed to the Founder of OrderPaper, Oke Epia, highlighted the desire of the group to see a National Assembly with improved service delivery and legislators that truly represent the interest of Nigerians and Nigeria. The Policy and Legislative Advocacy Activist thus hailed the MVP Hall of Fame initiative as one of the sustainable ways of ensuring such a goal is achieved, especially through continuous appraisal of their efforts, providing support and engaging in collaborations.

Rafsanjani, who also doubles as Head of Transparency International (Nigeria) as well as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Amnesty International (Nigeria), congratulated all the inductees at this maiden edition, just as he charged them not to slow down their efforts at being public-spirited and performance-driven.

“The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) / Transparency International Nigeria is honoured to be part of this laudable initiative designed by OrderPaper Nigeria to applaud and encourage examplary leadership, especially in the legislature.

It is our desire as major stakeholders in the Nigerian project to see improved service delivery by the National Assembly, legislators that truly represent the interest of Nigerians and Nigeria.

Some of the ways of ensuring such is achieved is continuous appraisal of their efforts, providing support and engaging in collaborations. That being said, I sincerely congratulate all the awardees in this edition and charge them not to slow down their efforts but continue being public-spirited and performance-driven.” the statement read.

CISLAC is a non-governmental advocacy and capacity-building organisation with a mission to strengthen the link between civil society and the legislature through advocacy and capacity-building for civil society groups and policy makers on legislative processes and governance issues.
