OrderPaperToday – Details of the controversial 2016 budget have revealed how Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) plan to use several millions of Naira for the fumigation of their offices.
The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) allocated N129m for “cleaning and fumigation”.
The Budget Office earmarked N12,949,281 for “cleaning and fumigation services.”
While a little known Border Communities Development Agency plans to use N22m for “fumigation” the Ministry of Agriculture said it needs a modest N3m for same purpose.
According to the details seen by ORDERPAPER.NG, some MDAs also allocated billions of naira for special projects that are peculiar to each of them.
Ministry of Power, Works and Housing with Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola as minister plans to use N531,887,675 for “Attendance of statutory and international meetings on works and housing.”
The agencies under the oversight of this Ministry are also not left out of the frivolous overheads.
National Power Training Institute allocated N226,340,000 for “Removal of dump materials to a designated place for health and security reason and to give room for civil work.”
Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading PLC, a company in Private Public Participation (PPP) with the Ministry of Power earmarked N701,897,561 for “Monitoring and Coordination of Bulk Electricity Matters”.
Under the Federal Roads Management Agency (FERMA), there is an allocation of N150m for “Growing Girls and Women Project”
