OrderPaperToday-    Senate Minority Leader, Godswill  Akpabio (PDP-Akwa Ibom North West) has called  for the upward review of budgetary allocations to the judiciary to ensure quick dispensation of justice.

Akpabio noted that, as  Vice Chairman of Senate Committee  on Judiciary,  he had information on the challenges confronting the judiciary,  revealing that, “in FCT, a Judge has not less than 70,000 cases.’’

He also called for an upward review of  budgetary  provision  of N41 billion for  Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) in view of over N400 billion debt profiles, stating that the provision in the budget for N41bn is not enough.

The lawmaker pledged the National Assembly’s readiness to work with the executive in delivery a realistic budget to Nigerians, in view of its importance to national development.
