According to Emmanuel,”If the federal government fails to act, the people of Benue will confront these herdsmen”.

The Benue born lawmakers however advised the federal government to urge the Fulani herdsmen to put their cattle in ranches rather than allowing them spread around to feed on farmers crops which is the cause of the rancor.

Also speaking, Mark Gbila stressed that as a way of spreading succour to victims in the state, the intervention fund reserved for rebuilding the troubled north- eastern Nigeria, should also stretch to Benue and other affected states affected.

Ten villages have been destroyed since the massacre began, leaving behind more than 9,000 victims.
